DOD: Photo Contest
The Denver Architecture Foundation (DAF) and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) are pleased to announce their 5th annual Doors Open Denver Photography Competition, Y/OUR Denver. Photographers of all skill levels are invited to find and photograph their favorite architectural spaces in Denver and throughout the state for this juried competition. All forms of architectural imagery are welcome: black & white, color, exterior, interiors and detail images. Thirty images will be showcased in an online exhibition on the DAF and CPAC websites. Submit your photos by October 28 via the CaFÉ Call for Entry.

JUROR
Samantha has been the Executive Director and Curator at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center since 2015. She holds a certificate in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver, an MFA from Lesley University College of Art & Design, and a BFA from Alfred University. Prior to joining CPAC, she taught photography and visual arts for 12 years at high schools in Boston and Denver.
She has curated exhibitions with contemporary artists such as Jess T. Dugan, Daniel Coburn, Barbara Ciurej & Lindsay Lochman, and Zora Murff. Samantha has served as a reviewer at Houston FotoFest, Review Santa Fe, PhotoPlus New York, Photolucida, Medium, Month of Photography (MoP), and Filter. She has juried several exhibitions including Critical Mass and The Fence.
She is a longtime member of the Society for Photographic Education, and served as Treasurer of the Southwest region from 2013-2016 and Co-Chair of SPE’s 2013 Southwest regional conference in Denver. She was named one of Colorado’s Top 100 Creatives 3.0 by Westword and has been featured in Lenscratch.
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to Colorado residents, age 18 or older. The following media are eligible: film; scanner; screen-capture; digital camera; and any means of mobile photography. No video submissions allowed.
Photos are not limited to Doors Open Denver 2022 sites, but must be architecture within Colorado. Please be aware that some sites have restrictions on interior and/or exterior photography, so please ask first. In the title, please list the location of the photograph in Colorado.

- Everyone who submits will receive an email notification, including which images were accepted for the online exhibition, if any.
- By providing your email address, you agree to receive updates about DAF’s and CPAC’s programs, events and news.
- Upon your acceptance, the work will be shown on the DAF & CPAC websites.
- Your entry constitutes understanding and agreement with the terms & conditions outlined in this prospectus.
USE RIGHTS
Each artist retains all copyrights to their own images. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the online exhibition grant the Denver Architecture Foundation and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting DAF’s and CPAC’s programs, promoting exhibitions and subsequent display on DAF’s and CPAC’s websites of current and past exhibitions, and represents that the artist created the image and has the right to make this grant of use. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for the Denver Architecture Foundation and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from DAF or CPAC.
